A LITTLE ABOUT ME
I am a creative professional, maker and STEM Educator with over a decade of experience in graphic design, event design, branding, digital campaign management, video production, shoot logistics, and more. In addition to my technical skills, I bring a decade of improv comedy experience and my time as an elementary educator to every project. These backgrounds have given me so much in the way of outside-the-box thinking and the ability to focus on what is most engaging to the audience.
For your convenience, here is a link to my resume... and here's one for the computers to read (or you can too, it just doesn't look as nice).
I'd be delighted to share details about any aspect of my career/adventures, and I hope we can work together soon. Send me an email and let's talk!
For about 2 years, I have worked with MEDA to create digital, print, and video content for recovery use, education about Eating Disorders, and fundraising. It has been an immensely rewarding experience and work I'm very proud of.
At Horizons for Homeless Children, I was in charge of all things branding and creative, and played a key part in many successful media campaigns, informational and fundraising.
At Grand Circle Travel, I was responsible for the production of close to 300 videos spanning the globe. I filmed some of them personally, and produced others remotely—writing scripts/shooting plans, travel itineraries, and securing interviews.
While performing professionally at ImprovBoston in Cambridge, MA, I also designed posters and promotional material for the lobby and online advertising.
For the past 5 years, I have been involved in elementary STEM education as a teacher in the Boston Public Schools, a consultant for STEM-based online teaching, and a LEGO-focused elementary engineering teacher & curriculum designer. I continue this work through my hobby of educational video game design.
At Boston Medical Center, I was responsible for all creative media regarding the Nurse Education Department, and helped to create videos and materials that trained hundreds of nursing staff members on proper procedure and educated patients about their care.
The work I've done as a freelance creative and technical professional has covered a wide range of industries and disciplines, from podcast logos to medical training booklets (in German, at that!). Whatever the task, I'm confident I can produce results that exceed expectations.
Currently I'm learning 3D modelling, as well as Game Development in the Unity Game Engine. During the height of the pandemic I enrolled in classes at Bunker Hill Community College towards an associate's degree in Game Development.
My goal is to create interactive experiences that teach elementary-level concepts of science & math, as well as social-emotional content with messages of inclusion and anti-racism.
As someone who loves to create and learn, I'm always working on something to make people laugh, think, or sometimes both.
